NielsenIQ (NIQ) has announced the appointment of Luis Simoes as the new Managing Director for Iberia, overseeing and expanding the company's business in Spain and Portugal.
Luis takes over from Patricia Daimiel, who has been responsible for the company for the past five years, and now assumes a global leadership role in the newly created Strategic Insights & Analytics organization, which brings together Advanced Analytics, BASES and Consumer & Marketing Insights, to help NIQ clients make informed decisions based on the best data.
Luis started his career at NIQ in France and brings over 25 years of experience in the data and information services industry. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the U.S. Prior to rejoining NIQ in September 2024 as CPS Strategic Projects and Iberia Lead, Luis was instrumental in shaping the global consumer panel industry as Director of Global Strategy at Kantar Worldpanel, where he led the acquisition of Numerator.
Beyond his corporate leadership, Luis Simoes is a business angel investor, supporting startups such as STEAM Academy, which offers after-school programs for children, and World Data Lab, a company specializing in forecasting consumer demographics and spending in more than 100 countries.
