L'Oréal Groupe is adding people to its FMCG division. As the company announced in a press release yesterday, Tiago Melo will take over the general management of Garnier and the group's new brands in Spain and Portugal.

Melo joined the company in 2015 as Marketing Manager of L'Oréal Paris and in 2017 he also served as Director of Makeup Marketing. In 2018, he embarked on a new career path as Marketing and Sales Director at Swatch, but in 2020, he returned to the group to work as Mass Market Marketing Director and moved to Paris as Global Marketing Director for L'Oréal Paris Men Expert. Now, he is taking a leap to become General Manager of Garnier and new brands in the Iberian Peninsula.

Ana Jaureguizar, the general manager of the FMCG division in Spain and Portugal, welcomed Melo's presence and explained that this is a great challenge for Melo: "This new challenge represents an exciting moment in Melo's career, who is distinguished by his innovative leadership and commitment to excellence". Jaureguizar added that his experience in both the industry and the company was one of the key variables in bringing in Tiago Melo, who will help strengthen the group's leadership position in the region.

Melo acknowledged that he is facing a great challenge, but with great enthusiasm and ambition: "the Iberian Peninsula market is tremendously interesting and full of opportunities for a brand like Garnier, which has more than 100 years of experience and covers the needs of consumers in Spain and Portugal".

L'Oréal's FMCG division aims to embrace, respond to and enhance emerging trends in order to create more relevant and sustainable beauty products and experiences, without losing sight of their accessibility to all audiences.
