Cerave breaks in hair care

CeraVe, renowned for its dermatological products, has decided to take a step into hair care. This expansion represents a milestone for the brand, which has experienced continuous growth in the skin care sector.

During 2023, CeraVe reported solid growth in the US market and established itself as one of the most popular skin care brands. According to sales data, the brand reached record figures, reflecting a double-digit increase in demand for its dedicated skin care products.

The brand has adapted its ‘barrier care’ philosophy to hair as well, staying true to its commitment to offer formulations with three essential ceramides (EOP, NP and AP), which play a key role in skin repair and protection. These three essential ceramides are also combined with hyaluronic acid to relieve flaking and scalp irritation.

In this way, CeraVe plans to replicate its successful hair care model in the hair arena, hoping to capture consumers looking for a balanced hair solution that also benefits scalp health. It is anticipated that this strategic move will strengthen the brand's position in the dermatology industry and continue to drive sales, appealing to the loyalty of existing users and encouraging new consumers to try this innovative approach to holistic skin and hair care.

With CeraVe looking to the future, we felt that hair and scalp care was a natural evolution for the brand,’ said CeraVe senior vice president and global director of professional sales and marketing Tom Allison.

At the moment, it has only made this leap in the United States and we will have to wait and see when it will be ready in Europe.
