Dermaclaim closes 2023 even better than 2022. The Valencia-based laboratory dedicated to dermo-cosmetic research has seen its turnover increase by more than 57% in 2023. This 2023 has also meant for Dermaclaim the completion of up to 400 projects for 89 clients, and has thus been able to expand its client portfolio, and has analysed 600 samples since its founding in 2021.

The company has specified through a press release that 50.2% of the turnover derived from studies on functional ingredients, and the remaining 49.8% pertained to tests on final cosmetic products or oral nutraceuticals. Dermaclaim also stressed that 85% of the revenues came from international clients, while the remaining percentage came from Spanish clients.

Dermaclaim has recently invested in new facilities for the in vitro laboratory within the Science Park of the University of Valencia, which they hope to have ready between the end of February and the beginning of March. As they point out in the press release, this expansion is also coordinated with the acquisition of new equipment and machinery. The Valencian laboratory has also acquired new equipment and machinery to increase its dependence on the Central Support Service for Experimental Research (SCSIE-UV).

Despite this expansion, Dermaclaim continues to look for larger facilities to relocate the clinical department and increase the capacity to carry out clinical studies. Recently, two new pieces of equipment and software have been purchased to expand its offer to customers.

The company's CEO, David González, has assessed the end of the year very positively and highlighted the implementation of new accreditations in the laboratory: "The business situation is very positive. It was difficult to think of having these figures in 2023 with only 2 years of life, but it seems clear that we are doing things well and that we are useful for our customers. The number of projects has increased, along with the recurrence rate and the total amount per project, which means that customers are increasingly relying on our testing services. Importantly, we remain fully committed to quality, which is reflected in the implementation of new accreditations such as Crédit d'Impôt Recherche (CIR) and ISO 27001 for information security standards, which will be approved in the first months of 2024."
