Puig is starting 2024 by expanding its portfolio of premium cosmetics brands. On this occasion, it has done so after obtaining a majority stake in the German molecular cosmetics brand Dr. Barbara Sturm, who will retain a small part of the company she founded 10 years ago.
Puig explained that this operation and the inclusion of this new high-end cosmetics firm serves to strengthen its competitive position in skin care with a brand that is "recognised worldwide". Dr. Barbara Sturm operates through e-commerce and digital channels and also sells through an international network of spas and boutiques.
Puig plans to boost its portfolio of premium beauty brands and the international development of the brand in 2024 with this first move, expanding its network of spas and boutiques in London, New York, Singapore and other specific and strategic locations.
Dr. Sturm has developed products for skin care, body care, hair care and food supplements. The CEO emphasised her "scientific approach to skin care and her highly effective treatments" as she strengthens her position in the premium skin care segment.
