Last Thursday, the National Institute of Statistics presented the latest updated data for the month of April of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). In it, the cosmetics and beauty sector is also included in various categories, and in general terms, all four categories show an upturn in prices.
Although it has been moderate, personal care and beauty products have increased their price in April by 0.5% after coming from a negative margin in March.
This indicator also includes the variation in the price of electrical appliances for personal care of 1.2% and is experiencing a rise after a 0.4% increase in March.
Non-electrical personal care appliances have also increased in price after a negative figure in March, which meant a drop in price. Now, in the month of April, it is back in positive territory, increasing its price by 0.1%.
Aesthetic treatments is the only category in the cosmetics and beauty sector that has seen its prices decrease this April, after a rising trend during the past months of January, February and March.
