The fifth edition of the AITEX business awards was held on 23rd November at the new AITEX headquarters. It was an event that brought together more than 300 people, including finalists, entrepreneurs and local, provincial and regional authorities. Vicente Blanes, General Director of AITEX, was in charge of the opening speech, thanking the attendees for their presence and the participation of the companies with their candidatures.

AITEX Award for sustainability and/or innovation in textiles:

First prize for Sepiia 2080 S.L with a cash award of €20,000.
Sepiia has managed to ensure that its garments are made from recycled materials that can be recycled in the future. They replace all fabric elements and blends with mono-material solutions to enable recycling and thus prolong the useful life of these resources.
In doing so, they save all the resources derived from the extraction and manufacture of the virgin raw material and make it possible for it to be used again in the future, taking a further step from the recycling economy to a completely circular economy. -
Second prize went to Auxicolor S.L. with a cash prize of €10,000.
Auxicolor has developed a natural origin dispersion system for garment dyeing. This new system is marketed in liquid format, thus facilitating handling and improving the limitations of natural pigments. It allows great savings in water, energy and time compared to conventional processes. The quality results obtained in industrial applications are very positive.

First prize went to Vytrus Biotech S.A. with a cash prize of €20,000.
PHOTOBIOME™ is a biotechnological ingredient resulting from the fusion of plant stem cells from two plants: cotton and pomegranate. It is a plant-based prebiotic active ingredient focused on the sun care and anti-ageing skin care segments. A 100% natural solution that saves more than 90% of water per kilo produced, compared to other plant extracts used as ingredients in the cosmetics industry. -
Second prize went to Nirvel Cosmetics S.L. with a cash prize of €10,000.
Natural' by Nirvel Cosmetics is the line of facial, body and hair cosmetics formulated with ingredients of natural origin and packaged in sustainable packaging. A creation that has been carefully designed to meet the growing demands of health-conscious and environmentally conscious consumers.

First prize went to Quimsil Siliconas S.L. with a cash award of €20,000.
Quimsil has adopted a circular economy model to take advantage of silicone rubber waste through a chemical recycling process, with wide application in various industrial sectors.
Their project contributes to savings in raw materials and energy, benefits the environment and brings high value-added industrial chemical products to the market. -
Second prize went to Lyra Techs Solutions S.L. with a cash prize of €10,000.
Lyra Tech Solutions is dedicated to the development, manufacture and assembly of machinery that, by means of artificial vision technologies, enables the separation of plastics for recycling.
Its solution enables the separation of plastic flakes before their reuse or transformation back into a polymer. By making it possible to separate the mixtures, they are revalued, increasing their quality and profitability.
The AITEX Awards were created in 2018 and play a crucial role in promoting and strengthening various companies, covering not only the textile and cosmetics field, but also extending to other industrial sectors. The purpose of the AITEX Business Awards is to promote interaction and collaboration between different sectors and audiences. It seeks to encourage companies to adopt more competitive approaches, stimulating the search for new solutions to emerging challenges and ultimately driving industrial growth.
