The AITEX Research and Innovation Centre is facing the last weeks of the V Edition of its Business Awards. The aim of these awards is to stimulate and enhance the national business fabric. In this edition, €90,000 will once again be distributed among the winning companies in the three categories of participation: textile, cosmetics and best entrepreneurial initiatives. The call for applications will close on 10 October 2023.
90,000 in prizes in three categories of participation
In this call, AITEX will award a total of €90,000 in prizes. In each category, there are two winners: a first prize of €20,000 and a second prize of €10,000, and participation is allowed in up to three different categories:
- The AITEX Award for sustainability and/or innovation in textiles will be awarded to those companies in the textile sector that have developed a product or production process with a high degree of innovation and/or that actively contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection.
- The AITEX Award for sustainability and/or innovation in cosmetics will be awarded to those companies in the cosmetics field that have developed a product or production process with a high degree of innovation and/or that actively contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection.
- The AITEX Award for the Best Entrepreneurial Initiative will reward creativity and innovation in the implementation of new business ideas. This modality is open to national companies from all sectors, legally constituted between 2020 and 2022.
The deadline for applications is still open
The deadline for submitting entries for the AITEX Business Awards is 10 October 2023. An expert jury made up of top-level representatives from the textile, cosmetics, institutional and business sectors will assess the proposals submitted after that date. This will take into account the value proposition, its innovation or environmental impact, the results obtained, its socio-economic footprint and the quality of the proposal presented.
Companies whose head office is located in Spain are eligible to participate. In order to take part in the call for proposals, companies must present all the documentation required in the terms and conditions of the aforementioned call for proposals.

The winners of the previous edition
The 2022 edition of the AITEX Business Awards was the first one in which there were three modalities of participation, so the number of winners increased significantly. The Valencian companies Interfabrics S.L. (Aquaclean Group) and Jeanología won first and second prize in textiles, respectively. In cosmetics, the Catalan company Montibello (Cosmética Cosbar) won first prize and the Valencian company Babaria (Berioska) won second prize. Kimera Technologies, Mediterranean Algae and Recovo Lab were the winning start-ups in the category of best entrepreneurial initiatives.
In 2021, the Valencian companies Bionicia and Care Application won the two main prizes for innovation and sustainability, respectively. Other important and renowned companies such as Manuel Reverte y Cia, Cotoblau, MLS Textiles 1992, Hilaturas Ferre, Naturtex, Tejidos Royo and Francisco Jover have also won the prizes that AITEX has awarded in previous editions.
The business prizes AITEX consolidate to national level
The AITEX Business Awards were created in 2018 with the aim of promoting the dynamisation of the Valencian business fabric, boosting industrial growth and helping companies to become more competitive by finding new solutions to new challenges.
Five editions later, the Business Awards have been consolidated at national level, recognising the work of companies and contributing to their development and projection in the fields of innovation, sustainability and research.
