CERTISYS, the Ecocert Group's subsidiary in the Benelux region, has announced that it will start offering NATRUE certification, an international standard that guarantees the authenticity of natural and organic cosmetics. This measure aims to strengthen transparency in the sector and encourage responsible consumption.

NATRUE certification has established itself as a benchmark for brands wishing to guarantee the purity of their products. Among its main criteria, it requires certified cosmetics to be composed only of natural substances, derived from natural elements or identical to them. It also prohibits the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), silicones, parabens, microplastics, synthetic fragrances and mineral oils.

Another key aspect of certification is the ‘75% Rule’, which states that at least three quarters of a brand's or sub-brand's products must meet NATRUE standards in order to qualify for the seal.

Commitment to the environment and animal welfare

The NATRUE standard not only seeks to protect the authenticity of products, but also to promote respect for the environment and the reduction of waste. It also upholds animal welfare, ensuring that certified products meet ethical standards in their production and formulation.

To obtain NATRUE certification, companies must submit their products to an audit process carried out by independent certification bodies, such as CERTISYS.
