Luzi and Fepla will be present at the next Cosmetorium with Tealicious

The Swiss company pays homage to the history of tea with the creation of five exclusive fragrances that will be available at Cosmetorium

Luzi and Fepla will be at Cosmetorium next Wednesday and Thursday

The Swiss family-owned company specialising in the development of scents for perfumes, cosmetics and home fragrances will be at this year's Cosmetorium. This time, the company has been inspired by the art of tea under the title Tealicious, with the slogan 'A scented tribute to the tea ceremony'.

Luzi, together with Fepla, invites those attending the fair to be held from 18 to 19 October in Barcelona to enter a world in which they can discover a new concept that embraces the beauty of tea.

Five teas have been able to inspire Luzi's creative team to create five exclusive fragrances which will be on display next Wednesday at Cosmetorium:

  • Matcha: is powdered green tea made from Camellia Sinensis tea leaves. The shading process increases chlorophyll from the plants, giving them an intense emerald green colour.
  • Green tea: harvested and immediately steamed or pan-fired to stop the oxidation process that gives green tea leaves their bright green colour.
  • Black tea: to make black tea, the tea leaves are picked, withered and lightly crushed.
  • White tea is minimally processed before drying and packaging. In some cases, white tea is harvested from the first tips and buds of the tea plant before they open into full leaves.
  • Pu-erh is an aged tea similar to black tea. Pu-erh is first processed in a similar way to green tea.

The exclusive scents that have created are:

  • Matcha Up: a vibrant and sophisticated fragrance that starts with spicy lime to give way to a relaxing blend of matcha tea, lily and jasmine. Woody notes of iris and cedar are also found, with musk adding a warm and welcoming touch. The fragrance is a balance of sensuality, elegance and freshness created by Jimmy Anton Studer.
  • Jade Fusion: Features an explosion of green tea, spicy grapefruit, bergamot and a hint of ginger. It evolves into a delicate bouquet of cherry blossom, rose and violet with a unique touch of rhubarb. The fragrance sits on a warm base of dry amber and musk creating a harmonious balance. Jade Fusion has been devised by Sidonie Grandperret.
  • Ceylon Fantasy: is a combination of blackberry and cardamom with a deep note of saffron. It unfolds into a warm comforting heart of black tea and lily with an exotic touch. This fragrance has also been created by Jimmy Anton Studer.
  • Silk Leaf: Combines bergamot, lemon with terro matte, sage sclarea and is complemented by delicate white tea and lily of the valley. The fragrance is enhanced by musk and vanilla. Created by Mirella Pomina.
  • Spirit of Pu Erh: Starts with spicy pimento berries and pink pepper, evolving into a soothing blend of tea, peony and saffron. It takes a turn with smoky notes and incense-infused leather.

Tealicious is a tribute to teas. Camellia Sinensis, the botanical name by which the tea plant is known, is the source of all true teas that have been cultivated and used for hundreds of years. Its origin, although not fully verified, is traced to southern China thousands of years ago.  Archaeological studies suggest that tea may have been consumed more than 2000 years ago. Today, tea is mainly cultivated in most of South and East Asia, such as China, India, Japan, Nepal and Vietnam.
