The Perfume Academy has announced the nominees for the XVIII edition of its annual awards, highlighting a record participation with over 230 entries, which represents a 30% increase compared to the previous edition.
On March 4th, the Distribution Jury, composed of fourteen experts from prominent perfume brands, met at the Academy's headquarters in Madrid to select the nominees. This initial phase is crucial, as it determines the fragrances that advance in the evaluation process. The categories for Perfume of the Year have been the most competitive, also registering a notable increase in the categories of Collection and Niche Perfume. Due to ties in the scores, the number of nominees in the Perfume of the Year and Women's Design categories has been expanded.
The nominated perfumes will now proceed to an online voting, open to both professionals and perfume enthusiasts, which will take place from March 11 to April 9 through the Academy's website. The results of this voting will determine the semi-finalists who will be subsequently evaluated by the press jury.
These awards, known as the "Oscars of Perfume", aim to bring the art and culture of fragrances closer to society, highlighting diversity and creativity in the world of perfumery.
