Sales of dermocosmetics increase in Spanish pharmacies

Spaniards are opting to use dermocosmetics after the summer. The latest report published and prepared by Alliance Healthcare, which reflects the trends in Spanish pharmacies, shows that the sale of dermo-cosmetic products in pharmacies has increased.

The report highlights that after the summer season, consumers go to pharmacies in search of depigmenting and anti-spot products. Specifically, in September, sales of dermo-cosmetics increased by 17% compared to the same period last year.

Depigmenting and anti-spot products have increased their sales in units by 16.6% compared to the previous year, and by almost 20% in value. Taking care of the skin after the summer also goes hand in hand with another trend and that is a growing interest in supplementing nutrition and opting for the purchase of multivitamin, probiotic and protein products, which have also seen their demand increase by 3%.

The same entity pointed out that during the summer months, especially in July, products with probiotics grew by 10% compared to the same month last year. The summer also saw an increase in certain male care products such as facial cleansers, moisturisers, shampoos and conditioners and reported an increase of 13.6% in units and 15.6% in value.
