TikTok Shop finally arrives in Spain. After months of delays and postponed launches, the social network presented its new update a week ago.
With more than 20 million people consuming on TikTok in Spain, the company was clear about this new step in the app. Now, Spanish users will be able to buy directly from Spanish sellers and brands.
TikTok incorporates the new features including shopping videos and live shopping in the For You and helps Spanish sellers and content creators the ability to sell through in-app shopping content.
In the case of the cosmetics sector, brands such as Cocunat, with experience within the platform, explained that ‘TikTok has played a key role in Cocunat's most important campaigns throughout our history. Our experience and knowledge of the platform means that the launch of Cocunat's TikTok Shop marks a new milestone in connecting with our established TikTok community, and allowing us to continue to reach new users.’ The company's CMO, Marta Jodar, admits that she is looking forward to what TikTok brings new.
TikTok's new features
- LIVE Shopping: LIVE Shopping allows sellers and creators to seamlessly integrate products into a livestream session. This offers an engaging real-time shopping experience, blending the physical shop experience with the convenience of online shopping. Sellers can showcase their products live, while shoppers can ask questions and receive answers in real time while interacting with the livestream community. As a result, sellers will be able to establish a deeper relationship with buyers by interacting in real time to showcase products through live demonstrations and trials, offer exclusive discounts and organise sweepstakes.
- Direct access to purchase products in the For You Feed: TikTok's short videos, appearing in the For You Feed, will showcase products that can be purchased directly on the platform. This offers sellers a native solution to add products to videos organically and creatively. Shoppers click on the link and are directed to product detail pages, which allow viewers to pay directly.
- Product showcase: Allows users to browse product cards, read reviews and buy directly from the brand's profile. Businesses can create custom product collections directly on their TikTok profile.
- Affiliate programme: Creators can connect with sellers through new commission-based product marketing opportunities. This offers creators a new way to monetise their creativity by sharing products in short videos and through TikTok LIVE sessions. In this context, marketers can choose the affiliate plan that best suits their brand.
- Shop ads on TikTok Shop: Retailers will be able to purchase advertising space on TikTok to promote their TikTok Shop shops. This will allow them to be discovered and interact with new audiences to generate new business. All without leaving TikTok.
- Secure Payment: TikTok works with trusted third party payment platforms to facilitate transactions on TikTok Shop, to ensure a fast, simple and secure payment process.
TikTok Shop was already operational in the UK and US and in selected locations in Canada and has helped brands to increase visibility and reach, build customer loyalty, make shopping easier and increase sales.
