Inditex is preparing to reactivate its activity in Ukraine. The Spanish company, with its flagship Zara, has announced that it is working on the reopening of its points of sale in the Ukrainian country, which will begin on 1 April.
The group owned by Amacio Ortega returns to Ukraine after more than two years of the closure of its shops as a result of the war between Ukraine and Russia. But there is already a date for Ukrainian consumers to return to the points of sale and also to online shopping, and it will be at the beginning of April, and a gradual reopening will take place, starting with the reestablishment of online commerce and the launching of around twenty shops.
The Inditex group's shops will close temporarily and temporarily on 24 February 2022. On 1 April, twenty shops will reopen in the Kiev area, with plans to open in Lviv at a later date.
According to Financial Times sources, the group expects to open close to a hundred shops in the coming months. Inditex, in the press release, explained that the group's priority is still to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.
Inditex closed its 79 shops in the face of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, a country that was an important market for the textile group. There, it has 11 Zara, 16 Pull & Bear, 8 Massimo Dutti, 16 Bershka, 14 Stradivarius, 9 Zara Home and one Uterqüe.
