FAQ 201 and FAQ 202

FAQ Swiss has just landed on the Spanish market with its line of LED light masks that have been a real revolution from the moment they were launched. Offering the best care for the skin by applying technology and innovation has always been the driving force behind FOREO's activity. And these days it has once again demonstrated why this group of Swedish origin is the world leader in techno-beauty. It has achieved this with the launch of this revolutionary firm, FAQ Swiss, and its LED light masks.

They have only just arrived, but they are already getting people talking, not only for their futuristic and eye-catching design, but also for the innovative way in which they have managed to apply a technology whose benefits on the skin are proven. And it has done so in ultra-light, cordless devices that offer professional results, but designed to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home. Its two models, FAQ 201 and FAQ 202 are capable of giving the skin the respite it needs with a treatment that takes just 15 minutes a day. But how do these masks work on the skin to improve its appearance?

FAQ 202

How it works FAQ?

As with all FOREO devices, however, it is easy to use, both for those who know how to use it perfectly and for those who are starting to use it for the first time. In the case of the masks, simply place it on the face with clean skin, without make-up or cosmetic products, and leave it on for about 15 minutes.

The device is connected to the FAQ Swiss application and a pre-programmed treatment appears on it, designed for those seeking anti-ageing results, which lasts for 15 minutes, although the mask can also be used by selecting one of the colours and doing an intensive treatment in that line, to focus on finding a solution to an aesthetic concern that has us busy.

An unexpected discovery

The FAQ 201 and 202 masks are based on a technology that is more than proven and documented. In fact, it was NASA that discovered two decades ago that LED light had an effect on the skin. And it did so, as is often the case with great discoveries, almost by chance. While its scientists were investigating how vegetables could be grown in space to improve the astronauts' diet when they were outside the Earth's atmosphere, they discovered that the skin on the hands of the makeshift space farmers who tended those crops looked different after being exposed to LED light for several days.

Further research into the impacts of this type of light on the skin began and has resulted in a number of findings. Among them, that each wavelength has an impact on the skin. With this information and based on the results of this research, the FOREO development team set to work on the creation of the FAQ masks with the intention of applying this technology in a device for home use, but with professional results.

FAQ 200

A solution for every skin concern

And as we have already mentioned, they succeeded. The result of that work is the FAQ 200 range, which does everything they set out to do.  In fact, their FAQ 202 mascara has managed to attract the attention of beauty addicts and beauty experts alike. This model combines 8 LED lights in different colours, although to be fair to the development, we should talk about wavelengths rather than colours.

The device therefore has eight wavelengths, which we can identify with different colours to the naked eye. These colours help us to identify these wavelengths and thus make the right choices to achieve the desired results. Therefore, when we turn on the mask we can see seven colours of the spectrum: red, blue, cyan, yellow, orange, green and violet. These shades are accompanied by NIR (near infrared) technology - a wavelength that not only penetrates deeper layers of the skin, but also boosts the work of the rest when used in combination, as is the case with the revolutionary FAQ 202.

From red to yellow: every problem, a colour to fight it

Apart from the NIR, as we have mentioned, the rest of the lights cover the spectrum, but also the rainbow, because each of the colours that the mask presents in the more than 600 reflective points that cover its surface, is focused on helping us with a need of the skin.

As a result of these studies, we know that each wavelength has an impact on the skin. Thus, the blue colour has antibacterial properties, which makes LED light of this hue a great ally when it comes to combating skin conditions, such as an acne outbreak. Green LED light works to control melanin and improve skin tone, making it an infallible ally in the fight against blemishes.

Further along the spectrum, we find yellow light, a shade that helps to improve redness and the appearance of fine lines. This is achieved by stimulating the production of red blood cells, which results in better circulation to the area. Those fine lines and wrinkles are also improved with orange light, which also helps to reduce inflammation in the face.

Purple light increases cell regeneration and cyan light helps to eliminate acne-causing bacteria, reduce redness and inflammation, and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. And finally, red light has a powerful anti-ageing effect, but it is important to note that it also has other uses, as in other fields they have come to be called healing lights, perhaps because of their ability to stimulate blood flow.

A non-invasive home treatment

These eight wavelengths are therefore used to create treatments whose effects are relatively quick to see, but which also have cumulative effects. At FAQ Swiss, in addition to effectively applying this technology, the concern was to come up with a design that would also allow the user to maintain his or her autonomy. And once again, they succeeded. After years of testing and research, they came up with a material, silicone - present in all FOREO devices since the beginning. But in FAQ it is transparent, flexible and most importantly: it allows FAQ 201 and 202 to adapt to the shape of each face so that no area is left without light.

The only part that is exempt is the eye area. The design allows the eyes to be protected by the open visor.  It has therefore meant a qualitative leap in skin care, but also in saving time. Because in these times we live in, time is the greatest treasure and everyone wants to make the most of it.

Although the treatments are not at all long, having a space to maintain full vision allows us to take advantage of every second of it not only to take care of our skin, but also to do any other task or activity we want at the same time, from reading to cooking or walking the dog -what cannot be guaranteed is that they don't take a photograph of us in the meantime because more than one neighbour will be surprised-. That viewfinder and the short time required for treatments, combined with its cordless technology, is a real achievement for those who live in a hurry.

Always to the avant-garde in techbeauty

With the presentation of FAQ and of it model FAQ 202, Foreo has gone back to leave patent why is leader in techbeauty in the world. And it is that it is able to create devices that help us to that a diary tightened was not a problem to take care of the skin home, in record time and obtaining professional results.
