Lubrizol has announced new results for its Uniclay™ ingredient, a biotechnology-sourced ingredient that improves the appearance of acne breakouts on skin application. This new ingredient could change the paradigm of facial cleansing with its purifying and regenerative properties.

Uniclay is a unique ingredient that comes from the clay of the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà natural park in Catalonia. This ingredient helps to purify the skin and increase its properties for more radiant skin. The recent double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study has shown that a facial cleanser containing the biotechnological ingredient Uniclay™ improved the appearance of the skin of women and men with acne-prone skin after just one week. There has also been a noticeable reduction in red spots and uneven texture, with long-lasting effects even after participants stopped using the product.

In addition, new effects have been revealed such as reducing the size of facial pores, improving rough skin texture and reducing skin grading while improving the skin's barrier function, essential for maintaining skin health.

Another factor that comes into play in this study is related to the sensoriality of the product and neurocosmetics. As Lubrizol points out, the use of this ingredient has had a positive impact on the user's sense of well-being and improved self-perception.
