From real-time clinical diagnoses to personalized cosmetic treatments, VDMHealth's artificial intelligence is redefining what it means to take care of our health. Its innovative application turns any mobile phone into a portable laboratory, capable of interpreting medical images, performing home ultrasounds, and anticipating pathologies before they manifest. With its preventive, personalized, and scientifically-based approach, VDMHealth opens a new stage for digital medicine and intelligent dermocosmetics.

  • We know that you have developed applications based on artificial intelligence to improve medical efficiency and real-time diagnosis... Could you explain how these applications work and what benefits they bring to healthcare professionals and patients?

At VDMHealth, we are redefining medical care with artificial intelligence solutions that combine clinical precision and real-time accessibility. We have developed the first telemedicine application powered entirely by artificial intelligence, designed specifically for smartphones and personal devices. Currently in the testing phase, its commercial launch is scheduled in three months. The application integrates a multilingual chatbot based on GenAI, capable of generating up to three trillion interactions in voice, text, and image, adapting the language depending on whether it is addressing patients or healthcare professionals.

One of its main innovations is the use of the mobile phone's camera as an exploration tool, applying hyperspectral technologies to analyze in a matter of seconds the skin (surface and intradermis), the oral cavity, the anterior segment and the fundus of the eye, as well as vital signs. All this information is interpreted instantly by the chatbot, transforming the phone into an authentic portable medical imaging laboratory within reach of any user.

In addition, we are developing a miniaturized ultrasound sensor that will allow instant ultrasounds to be performed at home, also automatically interpreted by the chatbot, which opens the door to the prevention, early warning, and continuous monitoring of a large number of pathologies from their initial stages. Thanks to our technology, users can receive immediate medical guidance, without the need for travel or invasive procedures. The result? More efficient professionals, better-informed patients, and a closer, proactive, preventive, and personalized medicine. Our solution covers multiple specialties such as mental health, dermoesthetics, ophthalmology, dentistry, among others. At VDMHealth, we firmly believe that the future of health begins with an intelligent conversation with intelligent means.

  • Adaptation to the cosmetic sector: Given VDM Health's focus on health monitoring through mobile devices and cameras, how could this technology be adapted for application in the cosmetic industry? Have you explored the possibility of developing tools that analyze the condition of the skin or hair to offer personalized recommendations for beauty products?

Our application includes an advanced system for exploration, diagnosis, and personalized treatment of the skin, based on hyperspectral photographs taken directly with any mobile phone, all backed by clinical trials.

This technology detects the reflection of chromophores in internal layers of the skin, which allows identifying substances, biomarkers, and structures that are not visible to the naked eye. Our chatbot, based on artificial intelligence, interprets these data instantly, which allows us to evaluate with great precision the condition, health, and aesthetic appearance of the skin, as well as detect a wide range of anomalies even before they manifest externally. And all this, with a simple photograph taken from a mobile phone.

This innovation opens a new path for the cosmetic and dermoesthetic industry, allowing the development of highly personalized treatments aimed at specific targets, directly from home. In addition, laboratories will be able to remotely monitor the evolution of thousands of users, thus optimizing their formulations and their product catalog. For their part, users will be able to visualize the real advances of their treatments in the different components of their skin, objectively verifying their evolution, which reinforces transparency and confidence in the results obtained.

  • Could your technology detect signs of aging, acne, spots, hydration, or other cutaneous parameters? What level of precision could they achieve compared to a traditional dermatological diagnosis?

Our technology is capable of detecting the presence and distribution of key substances that directly affect the appearance and health of the photographed areas, such as water, collagen, elastin, melanin, hemoglobin, among others.

These biomarkers allow us to accurately interpret visible signs such as flaccidity, dehydration, skin aging, wrinkles, or cellulite, and even anticipate them before they become evident. In addition, the system can alert about conditions that favor their appearance or about possible ongoing pathologies, such as acne, even if they are not detectable to the naked eye.

All our results are backed by clinical and observational studies conducted on cohorts of real patients, who have also collaborated in the process of improving the system. Thanks to this active participation, we have optimized diagnostic and therapeutic precision on a wide sample of active ingredients commonly used in dermatological aesthetics.

  • Have you considered establishing alliances with cosmetic companies to integrate your technology into beauty products or services? What kind of synergies do you think could arise from these collaborations?

Yes. During the testing phase, we have already received proposals from some of the leading firms in the cosmetic sector to explore synergies and integrate our technology into their service catalogs.

Our application allows instant diagnoses on the beauty and health of the skin, based on scientific evidence, validated in the laboratory, and with results never seen before. It is a tool of great value both for marketing and for personalization in the cosmetic industry, since it allows promoting the use of products from home and, at the same time, developing new formulations and improvements whose effectiveness can be monitored in real-time by the user.

Once we finish the current testing phase and officially launch the product on the market, we will carry out specific presentations and analyze the best collaboration strategies, both with large multinationals and with companies specialized in local niches of high added value.

  • Have you had conversations or interest from beauty brands to integrate your technology into e-commerce apps or physical points of sale? What would an ideal collaboration look like?

Our application operates in the cloud and is compatible with any smartphone, which allows a completely online interaction with users. This opens the door to marketing and online or in-person promotion campaigns of products supported by our technology, with measurable and assured results in real-time.

In addition, we are developing a model for the automatic generation of synthetic videos, which will allow previewing the results of the treatments based on the measurements and diagnoses generated by the application. This will be a high-impact marketing tool, as it will allow users to anticipate the changes in their image throughout the treatment, while the brands and companies that adopt this technology will have an authentic digital laboratory at home at the service of their clients.

This will not only improve the user experience but also boost attraction and loyalty, both in the direct channel and in the networks of professional centers, reinforcing the link between brand and client through advanced technology and real personalization.

  • Beyond aesthetics, do you think your technology could be used in preventive cosmetics or even wellness, anticipating skin problems or hormonal imbalances visible through the skin?

Indeed, as we have already explained, by analyzing the presence of bodies, biomarkers, and other findings in the internal layers of the skin, our technology allows generating early warnings about possible structural alterations, metabolic dysfunctions, or emerging pathologies, even before they manifest externally.

This predictive and preventive approach, based on the deep analysis of the skin, opens new possibilities both in the aesthetic and clinical fields, since it allows acting before the signs are visible, thus optimizing the effectiveness of the treatments and improving long-term results.

  • What are the next steps for VDM Health in terms of innovation and expansion? Do you see potential in diversifying your applications towards sectors like cosmetics to expand your market reach?

And, in fact, we are already doing it, not only in the cosmetic field but also in the dermoesthetic field in general.

In addition, we are applying our hyperspectral medical imaging technology to the analysis of both the outer layer and the interior of the eye (fundus). On the ocular surface, many of the incidents we detect are related to dry tear problems, which generate discomfort and vision loss in many users.

However, the analysis of the ocular fundus is especially exciting, since it brings together vascular and neurological structures that are highly sensitive to a large number of physiological processes. Through this exploration, it is possible to identify alterations related to metabolic failures and systemic diseases, such as diabetes, Alzheimer's, or even the predisposition to vascular accidents, among many others.

This line of work opens a new horizon for the early and non-invasive diagnosis of relevant medical conditions, with a simple eye scan through adapted mobile devices.
