Furthermore, in epidermal models with reduced OBP2A levels, a decrease in epidermal layer thickness and a reduction in the secretion of lamellar granules, key components of skin moisture, were observed. This resulted in impaired barrier function and increased epidermal water loss.

The search for ingredients that can increase OBP2A levels led to the discovery of French white lily extract, which not only increases OBP2A expression, but also improves epidermal thickness and reduces water loss, strengthening the skin's barrier function.
