Major European cosmetics groups are asking Europe to keep them out of the trade war between the European Union and the United States. This was explained by the Financial Times, a newspaper that has pointed out that some beauty groups, including L'Oréal, have pressured the European Union to remove American cosmetics from the list of potential restrictions to avoid possible reprisals against one of Europe's important sectors, the cosmetics sector.

L'Oréal's CEO, Nicolas Hieronimus, explained that there is an alliance of up to fifteen companies in the sector that warned the European Union authorities this week about the effects that restricting cosmetic products from the United States could cause. Hieronimus indicated that there is fear of possible measures that Trump may take in response.

The European Commission has prepared a possible and provisional list detailing potential tariffs and duties on goods from the Trump administration. This list included cosmetics, perfumes, and color cosmetics.
