The Swedish skincare technology brand, Foreo, has announced a price increase on its devices in the United States, ranging from 20% to 30% starting April 22. This measure responds to the recent tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, which raise taxes on technology imports manufactured in China by up to 125%, implying that the total impact of the tariffs on Foreo products is between 137% and 151%.
Mario Gomez, Global Commercial Director of Foreo, described these tariffs as "one of the most aggressive increases we have seen in years." Despite this, the company has decided to absorb part of these costs to limit the price increase for consumers. For example, the Luna 4 device, currently selling for $129, could increase by $25 to $39, ranging from $154 to $168.
Foreo has communicated to its customers on its U.S. website: "Tariffs in the United States: buy before prices go up." However, the company will continue to offer benefits to its loyal customers, such as added value bonuses on recurring purchases, seasonal sales opportunities, and free shipping on orders over $99.
Foreo is not the only company passing on part of the tariff costs to consumers. The American intimate and sexual health and wellness brand Dame has added a $5 surcharge called "Trump tariff surcharge" on all its orders, while Jolie, specializing in shower heads, has implemented a similar charge called "Trump Liberation Tariff" during the online checkout process.
