As it has published Reuters, Sephora abandons Russia and sells his subsidiary to the general manager venue of the chain to promote the continuity of the employees. After the sale, the mark will leave to operate under the name of Sephora, and will do it with the mark of "Ile of Beaute", a local chain that bought in 2016. 6 years afterwards, Sephora gives back the 88 establishments that possesses in the country to the mark with the purpose to guarantee the continuity of the workers. However, the operation still has not been authorised because first the authorities anti-trust have to verify the process, although it expects that it complete in the weeks to come.
The reason of the sale by part of the company has not been known, but the points of sale of Sephora carry closed in Russia from March, when other companies also announced that they stopped his economic activity in the country owing to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
This strategy of Sephora with which looks for get away of the Russian market is one of the movements that have adopted already other companies, as for example Mango or Nike.
