Symrise has recently inaugurated a manufacturing facility for its cosmetic ingredients division in Chennai, India. The new manufacturing facility will cater to the demand of the Indian market and has become a major milestone in Symrise's expansion strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.
The inauguration took place on 3 September and officially opened the facility with a ceremony, and among the attendees was Symrise's Vice President of Cosmetic Ingredients Asia Pacific Region, Chung Sin Wong. Also in attendance were cosmetic ingredients director Surya Lukito and Yohanna Sander, vice president of microprotection.
The new facility has a floor space of almost 1,800 square metres and will allow Symrise to serve the growing demand of the Korean market more efficiently. With this new facility they also hope to strengthen and improve the company's positioning in relation to the manufacturing of natural actives and extracts, and microprotection ingredients in the industry.
Chung Sin Wong, Vice President of Cosmetic Ingredients Asia Pacific expressed his delight at this milestone: ‘I am optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead for Symrise with this opening. Chennai represents more than a factory. It is part of the blueprint for sustainable growth and strategic expansion’.
