We live in the age of the informed consumer, where consumers are looking for more information about what they buy than just function and price. Today, consumers want a brand to clearly disclose the process of ingredients and for manufacturing companies to be concerned about the effect on the environment.

There is a marketing tactic used by companies and institutions to attract more customers or enhance their reputation: ‘Greenwashing’. The term ‘greenwashing’ comes from two English roots, ‘green-’, which translates as green, and ‘-washing’, which translates as washing. It could therefore be interpreted as ‘greenwashing’, a marketing method used by certain companies that claim to have made a commitment to the environment, either in the internal workings of the company, in the relationships it maintains with third parties or in the products or services it offers, without having implemented major modifications to its environmental policies.

To ensure that these practices do not take place, COSMOS certification is an internationally recognised standard for natural cosmetics and having ECOCERT as a partner in this certification gives customers absolute certainty that their company is not jumping on the ‘greenwashing horse’.

Choosing natural cosmetics certified by Ecocert means choosing quality and sustainability. In the current scenario, we are facing major problems such as climate change, overpopulation and waste, everyone has to change their habits and act responsibly. Part of this is the use of natural cosmetics certified by Ecocert. We have a responsibility to this planet and to future generations. By choosing products that are good for our health and the environment, we are acting for a sustainable world.
