AINIA will present its latest innovations in packaging at the international trade fair for innovation in packaging, processing and logistics Hispack. Solutions based on sustainability and circular economy to achieve safe packaging with new materials that reduce the carbon footprint and meet the needs of consumers.

Such as the Fibtray tray, a proprietary development of laminated paper trays for fresh produce packaging under modified atmosphere. Recently, this solution has led to the creation of the technology-based company Fibtray Solutions, promoted together with Redit Ventures.

Single-dose and biodegradable packaging that withstands heat treatment for food to be pasteurised (Vulcano project) and edible packaging and coatings to reduce waste generation and food waste (Prevenpack project) are other innovations to be presented by the technology centre.

AINIA will also present technological solutions such as the chemical recycling of bioplastic packaging waste, within the framework of the Revaloriza project. The aim is to obtain valuable materials at the end of the useful life of packaging, which can be used both to create new recycled plastics and to obtain products with high added value.

Innovations aimed at preventing the sinking of packaging in seas and rivers by incorporating the property of buoyancy will also be presented. Specifically, the FlotaPET project aims to provide viable technological proposals so that the plastic waste that does not float and ends up on the seabed can be easily recovered.

Led by the Clúster de Envases y Embalaje de la Comunidad Valencia, a new model for categorising the sustainability and suitability of the functionality of flexible films based on new computational models (Packcompute) will be explained.
