Traction alopecia generates a loss of hair and its density due to the mechanical traction exerted on the hair, which ends in breakage and hair loss. Normally, this alopecia appears in specific areas of the scalp that have often been subjected to excessive tension over a long period of time caused by very tight hairstyles such as braids, dreadlocks, buns, or in this viral case, it could include the clean look.The Beauty Cluster expert also explained what other effects this traction can have on the hair if it is abused on a regular basis: 'This traction causes mechanical damage to the hair follicles and consequently induces an inflammatory response and ends up presenting as perifollicular erythema with pustules in the area of traction. Eventually, it leads to hair loss and in this case affects the hairline'.Tractional alopecia can be reversed, but only if we act at the right time and are able to detect the first signs in time.
