Purchases of beauty products increased on August

NielsenIQ has published a press release showing the performance of consumption during the month of August. In this press release, it shows a 19.2% increase in consumption in the online channel and also a growth in demand, which returned to its positive values.

Online sales experienced a double-digit increase in value of 19.2%, continuing the upward trend of previous months, specifically since April. The perfumery channel achieved an increase of 9.8% and the drugstore and perfumery section is the section with the highest expenditure, with a 7.2% increase in value sales. These data show that in the last two years consumers are not willing to cut back on their spending on beauty products, and according to NIQ Bases, in Global Beauty Innovation, 80% of shoppers around the world say they intend to maintain or increase their spending on beauty products.

Consumers demonstrate with their purchases their concern for wellbeing and personal image with an increase in sales of products dedicated to facial treatment, body care, diethetics, make-up and sun protection.

In terms of price rises, fragrances are one of the products with the highest price increases, although certain products in the drugstore and perfumery section have seen their prices fall.
