In February 2025, the mass consumption market in Spain recorded a growth of 3% in value, according to the Circana consumption barometer. This increase is attributed to a 2% rise in demand and a moderate 1% increase in prices.

A key factor in this growth was the positive behavior of the perfume and personal hygiene sector. Despite a 2.4% decrease in prices in this segment, demand increased, reflecting a growing preference among consumers for personal care products.

This interest aligns with recent trends in Spain, where the perfume and cosmetics industry has experienced a remarkable boom. After the pandemic, the sector has grown by more than 30% in the last three years, with historic profits for companies like Sephora and Clarel. Spain has established itself as a powerhouse in cosmetics and perfumes, exporting more products than traditional sectors such as olive oil, wine, or footwear.

Furthermore, the perception of cosmetic products as essential for personal well-being has contributed to the market's growth. In 2023, the perfume and cosmetics industry in Spain reached a turnover of 10.4 billion euros, an increase of 12.1% compared to the previous year.

The perfume and personal hygiene market has played a very relevant role in the growth of mass consumption in February 2025, highlighting the increasing importance of these products in the daily lives of Spanish consumers.
