TikTok Shop postpones its launch in Spain to the end of the year

Again, the platform postpones its launch date and believes it could be operational by December

TikTok delays again the launch of TikTok Shop. Although it is already operational in some countries, it is still not coming to Spain. The platform assured that TikTok Shop would arrive in Spain at the end of October, but, in the end, this will not be the case and its launch will be postponed until the end of the year. 

The company does not make it clear whether it will finally be in November or December, but E-Commerce News explains that the launch could even be delayed until 2025. 

Legal, compliance and technical problems have increased the delay of its launch, which should have initially taken place in 2023. 

Despite this new delay, the company's domain name and homepage are now available. 

Cosmetics brands could be among the beneficiaries of this new platform, which is already a success in the United Kingdom: it has become the second most important marketplace in the country. In the United States it is also growing by leaps and bounds and has become the ninth. TikTok Shop, as explained in Marketing4eCommerce, is positioned as one of the favourite sales channels for many brands, especially in the beauty and wellness category. 

The arrival of TikTok Shop in Spain promises to become an opportunity also for small businesses since the platform will have its own online sales channel and will allow many freelancers to sell without the need to have an ecommerce.

TikTok Shop is currently available in the United States, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The most popular categories in these markets are health, beauty, fashion and accessories.
